First meeting of new cabinet on January 21

The maiden meeting of the new cabinet will be held on January 21 in the Prime Minister's Office at 10am, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told UNB on Monday.

The cabinet meeting is usually held every Monday, but it can be arranged any day if the prime minister wishes, according to Cabinet Division sources.

On January 7, the 47-member council of ministers, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, took oath following Awami League's landslide victory in the 11th general election held on December 30.

Apart from the prime minister, there are 24 ministers, 19 state ministers, and three deputy ministers in the new cabinet, all of them from the Awami League, for the first time since 1973.
