The government has appointed Md Shahidul Islam as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia.
A foreign ministry press release said this on Tuesday.
Shahidul is currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Before appointing him in the KSA, he served as the Bangladesh High Commissioner to South Africa.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, Shahidul Islam also served in Bangladesh missions in Brussels, Colombo, Abu Dhabi, Rome and Los Angeles in various capacities.
A career diplomat, Shahidul Islam is a member of BCS (FA) cadre of 1984 batch
Shahidul Islam obtained his Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism from Dhaka University.
He also completed his second Masters in International Politics from the Universite Libre De Bruxelles, Belgium, the release added.
