India hands over bodies of three Bangladeshis

The bodies of three Bangladesh nationals killed by Indian civilians in Tripura were handed over to Bangladesh border guards yesterday.

Second-in-command of Teliamora camp of Indian Border Security Force Birendra Vajpayee handed the bodies over to Border Guard Bangladesh through Balla border in Chunarughat upazila around 6:30pm.

The BGB sources said officer-in-charge of Chunarughat Police Station Amulya Kumar Chowdhury who was also present during the body handover.

The three Bangladeshi nationals were beaten to death by Indian civilians in the Khowai town of Indian Tripura state, close to Balla border in Chunarughat upazila of the district, early Tuesday.

The victims are Karam Ali, 35, Sujon Miah, 24, and Akal Miah, 25, hailing from Alinagar village at Gazipur union of the upazila.

A battalion commander-level flag meeting between BGB and BSF was held on Wednesday at the no-man’s land along Balla frontier over the handover of the bodies.
