Indian Health Minister Harsha Vardhan paid an unscheduled visit to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum at around 11:30pm in the capital's Dhanmandi on Thursday.
The Indian minister has been visiting Dhaka for a few days, attending the 67th session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia.
Dr Bayezid Khurshed Riaz, a member of the organising committee of the conference, told the Dhaka tribune that the Indian health minister spent some time at the museum and laid a floral wreath at Bangabandhu's mural.
Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran accompanied him during the visit.
The visit was followed by a dinner at Bangladesh Health Minister Mohammad Nasim's residence.
