Visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said her country is actively considering the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) and Teesta water sharing issues.
The Indian minister said this when she paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office on Thursday morning, BSS reports.
After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary AKM Shamim Chowdhury briefed reporters.
"The LBA Bill has already been placed in the Indian parliament and it is under active consideration of her government," Sushma was quoted by the prime minister's press secretary.
Sushma said: "We want to solve all bilateral issues with Bangladesh once for all through a cordial discussion."
Sushma Swaraj informed that before heading for Dhaka, she talked to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
"The West Bengal chief minister sent her good wishes to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, hoping that things would move positively," she said.
About the trans-boundary terrorism and militancy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reiterated Bangladesh's "zero tolerance" stance against terrorism and militancy.
Hasina her government would never allow anybody to use Bangladesh's soil for the purpose.
"We did not let anybody use our land for terrorist and militant activities in the past and our firm stance to this end would continue in future," she said.
Sheikh Hasina also called for simplification of visa procedure for the elderly people aged over 65 who mainly go to India for treatment and the students below 18 years.
She also put emphasis on trilateral relationship among India, Bhutan and Bangladesh for harnessing hydroelectric power generation scheme where Nepal can join later.
