The governments of Bangladesh and Kuwait have agreed to exchange and display military hardware at museums in their respective countries.
The cabinet yesterday approved a draft of the agreement, which is expected to be signed soon between the Bangladesh Military Museum and the Kuwait House of National Works, popularly known as the Kuwait Liberation War Museum, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told reporters.
Under the agreement, the two countries will establish separate sections in their respective museums to display each others’ military equipment.
The two sides will also exchange information and experiences in the sector as part of an initiative to enhance cooperation.
Meanwhile, the cabinet also approved a draft agreement on air services that will be signed with the European Union.
According to the agreement, Bangladesh will get special benefits for air services in all EU countries, the cabinet secretary said.
At present, Bangladesh has separate deals with eight EU countries, including the UK, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Slovakia and Poland.
However, it is hard to maintain and renew eight separate accords, Musharraf said. So, the government has decided to sign a comprehensive agreement with the EU, he added.
