The US Agency for International Development (USAID) appointed Janina Jaruzelski as its new mission director to Dhaka, the US embassy said in a press release.
Jaruzelski is set to take the responsibility at a time when Bangladesh is a partner country for three major US Government development initiatives- Feed the Future, Global Climate Change and the Global Health Initiative.
Jaruzelski, a member of the senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor, has served USAID since 1995 in Washington, DC and overseas posts.
Before her assignment in Dhaka, Jaruzelski was the USAID Mission Director in Bolivia.
Prior to her service at USAID, Jaruzelski was counsel to the US House of Representatives’ Energy and Commerce Committee. She also worked at the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and at the Macmillan Publishing Company.
