Humaiun leads Bangladesh delegation to Baghdad OIC meeting

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir is leading the Bangladesh delegation to the 52nd session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which is underway in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

The council is being held under the theme “Dialogue and solidarity, two fundamental pillars for promoting peace and sustainable development”.

The state minister is expected to deliver Bangladesh’s country statement on Saturday and hold a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from OIC member states on the sidelines of the session, said a Foreign Ministry press release on Saturday.

On Sunday, he will also co-chair an ad hoc ministerial meeting on accountability for human rights violations against the Rohingyas.

Host Iraq has taken over the chairmanship of the Council of Foreign Ministers from Türkiye for a one-year term.
