Army Chief in Malaysia on four-day official visit

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman arrived in Malaysia on a four-day official visit on Sunday.

On Monday, representing the Prime Minister and Defence Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, he visited the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia (NATSEC Asia) 2026 Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The exhibition, one of the largest in Asia, showcases advanced defence systems, electronic warfare technologies, and a wide range of military and security equipment.

He is also scheduled to attend the 8th Putrajaya Forum on April 21, 2026. The forum will feature key discussions on the impact of emerging technologies on security and regional stability in the ASEAN region, as well as coordinated and collaborative policy approaches and strategies.

During the visit, the Army Chief is expected to hold bilateral meetings with relevant Malaysian counterparts. The visit is expected to further strengthen regional relations and defence cooperation.
