Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, currently visiting Dhaka, paid a courtesy call on the President of Bangladesh Mohammed Shahabuddin.
The meeting took place on Sunday afternoon at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries as well as various issues of mutual interest.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the excellent existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Bhutan, and emphasized the need to deepen and diversify these ties further.
Fruitful discussions took place regarding enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, tourism, education, health, and tackling climate change.
The Bhutanese prime minister highly praised Bangladesh’s socio-economic development and conveyed the deep friendship of the Bhutanese people towards the people of Bangladesh.
The president, on the other hand, expressed interest in further strengthening people-to-people connections between the two nations.
After the meeting, the Bhutanese prime minister took a commemorative photograph with the president and signed the guestbook.
