Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has called on the international community to take urgent and decisive steps to end the Israeli occupation and violence in Palestine, reiterating Bangladesh’s unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
He made the appeal while addressing the Annual Coordination Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly High-Level Week at the UN Headquarters in New York.
In his statement, Touhid Hossain reaffirmed Bangladesh’s principled stance on the Palestine issue, emphasizing that lasting peace in the Middle East cannot be achieved without justice and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
He also highlighted Bangladesh’s active role in promoting Islamic solidarity and its contributions to the OIC’s Ten-Year Programme of Action. Stressing the need for institutional reform, he called for enhanced resource mobilization and more action-oriented cooperation among member states.
The meeting provided a platform for OIC foreign ministers to align their positions on key global challenges, including peace, security, and development priorities.
