The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Bangladesh, Syed Ahmed Maroof, hosted a dinner on Sunday night at Pakistan House, Dhaka, in honor of the legendary Ghazal maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is currently in Dhaka to perform at the "Charity Concert", organized by students of Dhaka University, as well as at the Opening Ceremony of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), hosted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The evening was graced by an illustrious gathering, including the iconic actress Madam Shabnam (Jharna Basak), celebrated singer Shakeela Khurasani, the Adviser to the Interim Government for Cultural Affairs and renowned Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.
Also in attendance were Mr Sarjis Alam, the student leader and General Secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, members of the Charity Concert's organizing committee and other prominent figures.
In his address, the High Commissioner expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests for elevating the evening into a vibrant celebration of art and culture.
He extended special appreciation to Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his team for their visit to Dhaka and for captivating his vast Bangladeshi fanbase with their mesmerizing performances.
The gathering was a delightful celebration of the shared artistic and cultural heritage between Pakistan and Bangladesh, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
