CA Press Wing: Reports of drone deployment at India-Bangladesh border false

The claim by the Indian weekly ‘India Today’ that drones have been deployed by Bangladesh at the India-Bangladesh border has been dismissed as fake news by the Chief Advisor (CA) Press Wing Facts.

In a post on the verified Facebook page on Saturday, the CA Press Wing Facts stated that the report is false and fabricated.

A Defense Ministry spokesperson commented on the matter, saying: "Bangladesh has not deployed any drones, apart from its routine activities, in any parts of the country."

The Press Wing Facts shared a screenshot of India Today's report, which was titled, "What’s Bayraktar TB2 drone deployed by Bangladesh and is India prepared?"

The India Today report claimed that Bangladesh had deployed advanced Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 drone in areas bordering West Bengal. It suggested that this move was taken due to increasing tension in relations with India.

The report further stated that such drones are typically used for surveillance and precision strikes. The deployment of these drones near India's strategically significant "Chicken Neck" corridor has heightened concerns, leading India to strengthen surveillance along the Bangladesh border.
