24 more pardoned expatriates return from UAE

A group of 24 Bangladeshi expatriates, recently granted clemency in the United Arab Emirates, returned home on Monday night.

They departed from Abu Dhabi aboard an Air Arabia flight at 2pm local time and arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at the scheduled time.

Earlier on Friday, the UAE government pardoned 75 Bangladeshi expatriates arrested for participating in protests expressing solidarity with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Bangladesh.

This brings the total number of pardoned individuals to 212.
