Bangladesh seeks enhanced diplomatic engagement of missions in South Asia

Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin on Tuesday asked the heads of Bangladesh’s missions in South Asian countries to strengthen diplomatic engagement at the bilateral level to foster peace, stability and economic development in the region. 

He issued the directive during a virtual meeting with the high commissioners/ambassadors of Bangladesh to South Asian countries, reads a foreign ministry's press release.

The discussion was held to take stock of the current state of bilateral cooperation, consular services and administrative issues of the missions. 

The foreign secretary emphasized that diplomatic engagement combined with regional cooperation can significantly contribute to promoting peace, stability and economic development in South Asia. 

The heads of missions shared updates on their efforts and initiatives.
