Over 100 Myanmar security forces take shelter in Bangladesh

Over 100 members of Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) and other security forces have allegedly taken shelter in Teknaf, Bangladesh, amid ongoing clashes in Myanmar.

Myanmar government forces infiltrated through three points along the Teknaf border starting Thursday morning.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Bangladesh Coast Guard members took them into custody.

Teknaf Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Adnan Chowdhury confirmed the matter.

"I have heard that BGP members from Myanmar have taken shelter here again. They are currently in the custody of our BGB and Coast Guard. Additionally, law enforcement agencies are on high alert along the border."

No official statements have been released by BGB or the Coast Guard regarding the situation.
