Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has become the "real icon" of the Global Gateway Forum by giving the most appealing speech at the forum conference, calling upon global leaders to stop war and arms race for betterment of the mankind.
"She Sheikh has become the real icon and star of the Global Gateway Forum by giving the most appealing speech in the opening plenary session of the conference on Thursday," said Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen.
While briefing media on Thursday about the prime minister's daily engagement in Brussels, he said the prime minister has drawn whole attraction of the heads of the state and the government taking part in the forum conference.
Referring to the prime minister's attendance at the closing plenary session of the forum this morning, she said all have stood in queue to have talk and pleasantries with the prime minister like the previous day.
He said last night he along with the prime minister attended a dinner hosted by Ursula von der Leyen in honour of the heads of state and government participating in the Global Gateway Forum.
At the dinner, he said he could not have the dinner properly as the participants surrounded him to express their greetings and well wishes to the prime minister as they were mesmerized by the opening plenary session speech of Sheikh Hasina.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken Bangladesh to a newer height on the global stage by her prudent leadership and all Bangalis should be proud of her," he said.
Mentioning that the Prime Minister received applause from the participants of the forum and EU leaders, he said: "She (Sheikh Hasina) has become the attraction of the whole event".
Momen said such appreciation just two months before the next general election has immensely brightened the country's image.
