Dhaka assures ICC prosecutor of support in Rohingya case

Bangladesh has assured the International Criminal Court of its support regarding the Rohingya case.

Dhaka gave the assurance when ICC Prosecutor Karim AA Khan, who is on a four-day visit to Bangladesh, called on Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday.

The foreign minister appreciated the commendable work of the International Criminal Court in ensuring justice and accountability around the world.

He also assured the ICC prosecutor of Bangladesh's support and cooperation with his office regarding the Rohingya case.

Khan is in Bangladesh as part of his ongoing investigation into the alleged crimes committed against Rohingyas by the Myanmar military.

During his visit, he will provide insights into his current mission to Bangladesh, which is his second visit to the country since the start of the investigation into the Bangladesh-Myanmar Situation, his office said.

At a media briefing, he will talk about his meetings with the refugees in the camps in Cox's Bazar and share updates on his office's efforts to pursue justice for the alleged crimes committed against the Rohingya.
