Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday congratulated newly elected Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo.
Sheikh Hasina in a letter said: “I, on behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, would like to congratulate you on your assumption as the Prime Minister of Finland.”
She reiterated that the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and Finland has strengthened the bilateral relations over the years and also brought the two governments to play mutually supportive roles in various regional and global issues, particularly international peace and security, migration, climate change, women empowerment, and sustainable development.
“I am certain that the bond of friendship, understanding, and cooperation existing between our two friendly countries will be further deepened and consolidated in the days ahead.”
She looks forward to working closely with Petteri Orpo in uplifting multidimensional bilateral relations further in order to achieve common prosperity for the two people.
Sheikh Hasina wished the new Finnish Prime Minister good health, happiness, and success and the people of Finland continued peace, progress and prosperity.
