PM Hasina sends 3,000kg of mango to chief ministers of Northeast India

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent 3,000kg of mangoes as a gift to the chief ministers of the Northeast India, including Assam and Meghalaya fostering stronger relationships between the countries. 

The 600 boxes of mangoes were handed over to the officials of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh, Guwahati, on Saturday.

Amaljoti Barua, administrative officer of the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh posted in Guwahati, Assistant Consular Biswajit Chakraborty, and Public Relations Officer Ferdous Sarkar received the mangoes.

Every year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sends mangoes to Northeast India, which is also known as Seven Sisters.

It comprises eight states — Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. And the state of Sikkim is known as the brother.
