The newly appointed ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, Iwama Kiminori, has said Japan has worked as a development partner of Bangladesh in their 50 years of diplomatic relations, and that Tokyo will continue to do so in the days to come.
“Japan is working on the expansion of the Matarbari deep sea port and Cox's Bazar-Chittagong road in order to increase connectivity,” the Japanese envoy said while exchanging views with the board of directors of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) at World Trade Centre in Chittagong on Tuesday.
The ambassador also expressed determination to continue making efforts for the growth of trade and investment in Bangladesh by making the trade and investment environment better on the basis of the partnership between the two countries.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam presided over the function while Senior Vice President Ruhul Amin Tarafdar, Vice President Syed Mohammad Tanveer, directors AKM Akhtar Hossain, Md Ohid Siraj Chowdhury, Zahirul Islam Chowdhury, Anjan Shekhar Das, Md Rakibur Rahman, Nazmul Karim Chowdhury Sharun, Shahzada Md Fauzul Alef Khan, Md Iftekhar Faisal, SM Tahsin Junaid and Tanvir Mostafa Chowdhury, and officials of the embassy were present at the function.
