Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims can now complete immigration process in Dhaka

Immigration process for Hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh can now be completed from Dhaka. 

Deputy Minister of Interior of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Dawood, who is currently visiting Bangladesh, assured this during a meeting with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at the State Guest House Padma in the capital on Saturday.

Pilgrims would be able to complete their immigration in Dhaka prior to their departure to Saudi Arabia, said the Saudi Arabia deputy minister in the meeting. 

Bangladesh is the first country with whom Saudi Arabia is going to sign “Route to Mecca” service agreement considering “excellent relations” between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, the meeting further elaborated.

The foreign minister thanked the Saudi king, crown prince, and prime minister of Saudi Arabia for the cordial cooperation in strengthening the relations between the countries in multiple sectors.

The Saudi deputy minister praised the role of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government in the stable economic development of Bangladesh. 

Deputy Minister of Interior of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Dawood expressed his country's interest in closer security cooperation with Bangladesh.

In this regard, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said: "Bangladesh government is working closely with Saudi Arabia to strengthen cooperation in trade and investment, security, education, culture, power, energy, civil aviation and tourism."

He also told Saudi deputy minister that the government and people of Bangladesh are eagerly waiting to welcome the crown prince and prime minister of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh.
