119,468 Bangladeshis reach Saudi Arabia for hajj

A total of 119,468 pilgrims had arrived in Saudi Arabia as of Friday night for performing hajj, with more than two million from over 160 countries expected to brave the scorching heat for the annual pilgrimage this year.

This time 10,321 Bangladeshis went to Saudi Arabia under government management and 109,147 under private management.

A total of 23 pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far.

The rituals of hajj will start on Sunday, and hajj will take place on June 27.

This year, 123,278 visas were issued for hajj. The number of agencies participating in hajj activities is 603.

Meanwhile, last night in Saudi Arabia, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Bangladesh Hajj Office in Makkah.

Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md Abdul Hamid Jamaddar presided over the meeting.
