Bangladeshi journalist Zahidur Rahman Zahid and engineer Saiful Islam, who went missing in Libya, have been rescued and are currently in the custody of Bangladesh's ambassador to Libya.
“They will be able to return to the country in a day or two,” Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Thursday.
The journalist was arrested by the Tripoli Security Forces in Libya for taking pictures without permission, he said, without giving details.
“Due to Bangladesh's friendly relations with Libya and through the mediation of Bangladesh's ambassador, the Libyan government has given them the opportunity to return home,” Dr Momen added.
