Romania will send a consular team to Bangladesh next month in order to issue visas for Bangladeshis, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Monday.
While in Bangladesh, the Romanian team will issue 5,000 visas, including 3,500 pending ones, he said.
"Finally, the Foreign Ministry of Romania is sending 6 members consular team to Dhaka for 3 months from March 2022 to issue about 5000 visas including 3400 pending visas, the minister said in a WhatsApp message.
"They need some local assistance. This is the first time they are sending such kind of consular mission abroad," he said.
Following the bilateral consultation, held in October 2021, between the ministers for foreign affairs of the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania approved to open of the temporary consular office in Dhaka and to organize a three-month delegation.
