Indian envoy: Inspired to protect the values Bangabandhu stood for

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami has paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as Bangladesh observes the National Mourning Day,

"We're inspired to protect the values Bangabandhu stood for," the Indian high commission in Dhaka tweeted.

The High Commission said India shares the grief of Bangladesh. "Respectful homage to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on his martyrdom."

Doraiswami placed a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi 32 in Dhaka on Sunday.

Officials of the High Commission were also present.
