Govt appoints new ambassadors to Sweden, Oman

The government has decided to appoint new ambassadors of Bangladesh to Sweden and Oman. Md Nazmul Islam will be appointed as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden and Md Golam Sarwar will be the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Sultanate of Oman, said a Foreign Ministry press release. Md Nazmul Islam is now serving as director general (Administration, GS & ICT) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Nazmul, a career diplomat of 15th BCS (Foreign Affairs), joined the Foreign Service in 1995. In his diplomatic career, he served as the consul general in Jeddah and counsellor in Beijing. He also served in Bangladesh missions in Jakarta and London in different capacities. Md Golam Sarwar, a career diplomat of 10th BCS (Foreign Affairs), is currently serving as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to Sweden. He joined the Foreign Service in 1991. He served as the consul general in Jeddah and minister in Washington DC. He also served in Bangladesh missions in Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur and Yangon in different capacities.
