PM leaves Tokyo Friday to attend OIC summit in Makkah

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves Tokyo on Friday morning for Saudi Arabia, the second destination of her tri-nation tour, wrapping up her four-day visit to Japan.

A special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage is scheduled to leave Haneda International Airport, Tokyo at 9:25am (local time), reports UNB.

Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Toshiko Abe will see her off at the airport.

The flight will land at King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at 5:25pm (local time).

During her three-day stay in Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister will attend the 14th session of the OIC’s conference in Makkah and perform Umrah on Saturday. 

The summit, titled ‘Makkah Summit: Together for the Future’, aims to develop a unified stance on events in the Islamic world.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the opening ceremony of the OIC summit on Friday evening.

On Saturday, she will attend the first working session at 12:30am and the second working session at 1:30am.

The Prime Minister will attend the closing session at 2:30am and then join the Suhoor Banquet at Safa Palace.

On Sunday, she is expected to offer fateha at the Rawza of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

On June 3, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Saudi Arabia for Finland where she will be staying till June 7.

During her stay in Finland, Sheikh Hasina will have a meeting with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö on June 4.

On June 8, the Prime Minister is scheduled to return home wrapping up her 12-day tri-nation visit.
