Hajj pilgrims will be allowed to visit different tourist spots in Saudi Arabia from 2019, the Saudi Arabia government has declared.
However, they can only travel through a travel operator approved by the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a press release from Press Information Department (PID).
Millions of Muslims from around the world perform Hajj every year. Last year, over two million people had performed the Hajj pilgrimage.
More than 100,000 pilgrims from Bangladesh perform Hajj every year.
For the Muslim faithful, Hajj retraces the last steps of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) and also honors the prophets Abraham and Ishmael.
It ends with the Eid-ul-Azha, which is marked by the slaughter of sacrificial animals, a tribute to Abraham's sacrifice of a lamb after God spared his son Ishmael.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines recently also reduced Hajj flights fare by Tk10,191, reports UNB.
Now, pilgrims flying to Makkah will have to pay Tk1,28,000.
