Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla has been appointed as the next Indian ambassador to the United States (US).
He is expected to take up the assignment shortly, according to an announcement posted on the website of India’s Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday.
Senior Indian diplomat Riva Ganguly Das, now serving as director general of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, is likely to be the next Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh, reports UNB quoting a diplomatic source.
Shringla was appointed Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh in November 2015.
