The Indian government has appointed Riva Ganguly Das as the new High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of Indian made the announcement on its official website on Thursday, reports BSS.
Das currently serves as the director general of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
The MEA said that Das is expected to take up her new assignment shortly.
Das will be succeeding Harsh Vardhan Shringla as the high commissioner in Dhaka.
On Thursday, Shringla was also appointed as the new Indian ambassador to the United States.
