Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday talked to ailing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas over phone and enquired about the condition of his health.
She also prayed for the quick recovery of Abbas during the phone conversation around 5:15pm, sources at the prime minister’s Press Wing told UNB.
The 82-year-old Palestinian president was hospitalized thrice in the last week after he had been diagnosed with lung infection and pneumonia following his ear surgery.
Abbas is only the second leader of what is officially known as the State of Palestine. He took over after the death of Yasser Arafat in 2004.
