Bangladesh and Nepal sign agreement to exchange information

Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Bangladesh Prof Dr Md Golam Rahman and his Nepali counterpart Krishna Hari Baskota signed the treaty during a function at Bangladesh Information Commission office on Wednesday. Under the treaty, Information Commission of the both countries would exchange the information of organizational structure, operating system, research, publication, human resource development and training between them. Later, the CIC of both the countries held a bilateral meeting. During the meeting, Prof Golam and Krishna Hari highlighted the activities of their respective commissions. Both commissioners stressed the importance of ensuring rights to information to develop the living standards of their countries. Nepal Chandra Sarkar, information commissioner of Bangladesh, Yashoda Devi Timsina, information commissioner of Nepal NIC, Dhan Bahadur Oli, acting envoy of Nepal, Md Raffiquzaman, secretary at the information commission, Information Ministry Mizan-ul-Alam, joint secretary at the Information Ministry and Foreign Ministry Israt Ara, director at the Foreign Ministry were present at the meeting, among others.
