Bangladesh envoy to Brazil in ICU

Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, former foreign affairs secretary and serving ambassador to Brazil arrived in Sao Paulo on February 7. Since his arrival, he had been complaining about breathing difficulties. Doctors had advised him to be admitted in a Sao Paulo hospital, but Mijarul did not pay any heed to their suggestions. Mijarul travelled to Brasilia from Sao Paulo by road and quickly fell ill on the road. He was hospitalised in Brasilia and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Mijarul had previously served as the high commissioner to the UK, and prior to that he had served in the Russian Federation, the Maldives, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
