Govt to bear cost of bringing expats' bodies back home

The state minister conveyed the message to Bangladeshi expatriates via a Facebook post on Saturday, where he stated: β€œThe government has decided some time ago to bear the cost of transporting expatriates' bodies back home and their subsequent burials, if the families are financially incapable of doing it themselves.” Shahriar urged the Bangladeshi expats to first attempt to communicate with the concerned Bangladesh missions abroad. If the missions are unresponsive, expats should email him directly at sm@mofa.gov.bd. He pointed out that though the Wage Earners Welfare Board under the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment is supposed to handle these situations, expats can reach out to him for help.
