ULAB holds event with Deshantor team

ULAB Film Club arranged a discussion event on “Deshantor” collaborating with ULAB Digital Marketing Club, ULAB Art and Photography Club and Theater ULAB on 10th November 2022 in ULAB Research Building's Auditorium.

The discussion started at 4:00pm and ended at 5:15pm. Ashutosh Sujan, Yash Rohan, Mamun Dewan, Asadujjaman Asad, Dalim Kumar, and Turjo, the actress Rodela's brother, attended the occasion as honorary guests, says a press release issued on Friday.

Shubhashis Bhowmik, a cast member, left before the session was over. Presidents of three clubs were also present.

An individual's bond with his motherland in the country of the first partition of 1947 is the subject of "Deshantor," the Nirmalendu Goon novel and the subsequent film. Throughout the narrative, a Bengali Bharat family goes back and forth between East Bengal and West Bengal due to pressure.

The event started with welcoming the guests and the audience. The visitors received flowers as a token of appreciation. The hosts then offered a quick overview of the movie "Deshantor," including information about the director and casts. The visitors and audience then admired the amazing "Deshantor" trailer. After that, the guests were invited to the stage to produce the discussion session.

On the stage were the film's protagonist, Yash Rohan, the director, Ashutosh Sujan, and the other four members of the production crew. With his crew, Ashutosh Sujan discussed the movie and how they came to develop such a fantastic one. They also urged the younger generation to learn about Bangladeshi people's sacrifices.

“It is not only a film where we are introduced to the situation of Bengal but also a film where we will feel attached to our own country and its happiness,” he said.

Then the film's director and other cast and crew members took questions from the crowd. Then the production played new four songs from the film “Deshantor”and it was a special gift for the audience. The songs were very well received by the crowd.

Asif Faiyed, president of ULAB Film Club, Shamim Ferdous, president of ULAB Art and Photography club and Fardeen Khan, president of ULAB Theater handed over the token of appreciation to the guests.
