Reserved women’s seats: 11-party alliance announces candidates’ names

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-led 11-party electoral alliance has finalized the list of candidates for the reserved women’s seats in the 13th National Parliament.

The list was published on behalf of the alliance on Monday evening.

According to the final list, 13 candidates have been nominated for the reserved women’s seats, of whom eight are from Jamaati and five are from allied parties and special categories.

Those nominated from Jamaat are Nuruun Nisa Siddika, Marzia Begum, Sabikun Nahar Muni, Mardia Momtaz, Nazmun Nahar Nilu, Mahfuza Siddika, Sajeda Samad and Samsun Nahar.

From the NCP, Monira Sharmin and Mahmudaa Alam Mitu have been nominated.

Others selected under the alliance include JAGPA chairperson Tasmia Pradhan, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Women’s Majlish member Mahbuba Hakim, and Rokeya Begum, mother of July martyr child Jabir Ibrahim.
