Ansar-VDP election meeting held in Khulna

Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) held a preparatory meeting on Tuesday at Khulna District Stadium as part of its ongoing readiness activities to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026.

The event was attended by Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, who urged Ansar-VDP members to perform their election duties with the highest professionalism, strict neutrality, and vigilance. Members from Jessore, Kushtia, and Jhenaidah districts also joined the programme virtually through digital screens.

Describing Ansar-VDP as the first line of defense in election security, the Director General emphasized the importance of discipline at polling centers, where 13 members will be deployed at each location. He highlighted the use of modern technology, including the Election Security Apps, STDMMS software, QR code verification, and camera-assisted monitoring to ensure transparency and rapid response to any untoward incidents, according to press release.

He noted that around 560,000 Ansar and VDP members will be deployed nationwide during the election. Through coordination, technological capacity, and cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, Ansar-VDP aims to ensure a secure and credible election environment.

The Director General reaffirmed the force’s commitment to delivering a peaceful, transparent, and trustworthy election that meets both national and international standards.
