Awami League nomination for reserved seat selling from Tuesday

The ruling party Awami League is going to sell party nominations for the reserved seats for women in the 12th parliament from Tuesday.

Interested candidates can buy and submit forms from Tuesday to Thursday, according to a press release issued by Awami League Office Secretary Biplab Barua on Sunday.

Party sources said the nomination form will be worth Tk50,000 each.

In 2019, a total 1,057 women candidates collected Awami League nomination form for the reserved seat for the 11th national parliament.

This time, hundreds of female politicians, including current and former lawmakers, social workers, celebrities, actors, and film stars, are vying for inclusion on the Awami League list.

Awami League will nominate almost 48 members of the 50 reserved seats in the first session of parliament, which is ongoing.
