The Election Commission (EC) said that it will not comment on the statements of the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) regarding the 12th national election.
When asked about the commission's views on the statements of the US and UK, Election Commissioner Md Alamgir said on Tuesday: "Our statement was given by the chief election commissioner on Monday. I have nothing to say beyond that."
The election commissioner claimed that they had fulfilled their job properly and would not comment on satisfaction or displeasure.
The EC said: "The commission has done everything that was required as per the rules. The election was peaceful and fair."
The commission approved the gazette naming the victors of the 298 seats in the 12th national election. The gazette has been sent for publication; it may arrive at the National Parliament Secretariat by Tuesday, he added.
