BNP's Moyeen Khan slams 12th national polls

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)’s standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan on Sunday strongly criticized the twelfth national parliamentary election, labelling it as nothing short of a sham.

Addressing the post-election situation at a press briefing at his Gulshan residence in the capital, Khan emphasized the need for patience from party workers, adding: "We must await the unfolding events in the aftermath of the polls."

Khan also anticipated that the media, both local and international, would soon unveil a comprehensive report exposing the irregularities of the election.

He highlighted BNP's commitment to restoring democratic rights of the people through a peaceful and participatory movement.

Asserting their dedication to this cause, he proclaimed that the BNP would persist in its systematic struggle on the streets until these rights were fully realized.

Khan also stated that the BNP had gathered evidence throughout the day, showcasing empty polling stations and unveiling what he deemed “a farcical election” in Bangladesh.

Underlining the BNP's broader objectives, Khan stated that the party aimed to secure the people's right to vote even beyond the election.

Simultaneously, there were reports suggesting that they anticipated receiving support and messages from the international community, including the United States, he added.
