Awami League nominations: 9 new faces in Dhaka constituencies

The ruling Awami League, in preparation for the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections, has finalized its party candidates for 298 out of the total 300 seats.

The party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader made the official announcement of candidate on Sunday at a press conference held at the central office.

Out of 300 parliamentary seats, Dhaka has 20 seats. Of them, nine candidates were newly picked.

Harunur Rashid Munna in Dhaka-5 seat, Sayeed Khokon in Dhaka-6, Solaiman Salim in Dhaka-7, AFM Bahauddin Nasim in Dhaka-8, Saber Hossain Chowdhury in Dhaka-9, Ferdous Ahmed in Dhaka-10, Wakil Uddin in Dhaka-11, Jahangir Kabir Nanak in Dhaka-13, and Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil in Dhaka-14.

The ruling party Awami League has trusted the previous 11 people. They are - Salman F Rahman in Dhaka-1, Qamrul Islam in Dhaka-2, Nasrul Hamid in Dhaka-3, Sanjida Khanam in Dhaka-4, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in Dhaka-12, Kamal Ahmed Majumdar in Dhaka-15, Elias Uddin Mollah in Dhaka-16, Mohammad Ali Arafat in Dhaka-17, Habib Hasan in Dhaka-18, Dr Enamur Rahman in Dhaka-19, and Benzir Ahmed in Dhaka-20 constituency.
