Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader met the party’s chief patron Raushan Ershad at her residence in Gulshan area of the capital Dhaka on Saturday night.
GM Quader went to Raushan’s residence and held the meeting for about an hour and left the residence around 10pm.
The two leaders held the meeting in a family environment and held discussions on joining the upcoming parliamentary election.
Raushan, also the leader in the opposition in parliament, is the wife of GM Quader’s elder brother and late party chairman HM Ershad.
The leader in the opposition’s political secretary Golam Masih, her spokesman Kazi Mamunur Rashid and Rahgir Al Mahi Ershad (Saad Ershad) were also present in the meeting.
News of the visit comes at a time when a sharp division between the two party leaders over party control and participation in the next general election is clearly visible.
