State Minister: Dialogue can be held following constitution

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Monday said that dialogue on upcoming national election with other political parties is still possible, but it needs to be held as per the constitution.

He was speaking with the reporters after meeting with Francisco de Asis Benitez Salah, the ambassador of Spain appointed in Dhaka on Monday. 

The state minister said: "Even though there are blockades andhartalsl ongoing in the country, it’s not the real picture. Nomination papers for the elections are being collected and submitted in a festive atmosphere in Dhaka. Outside of Dhaka, people are interested in seeing which candidate is participating in the election in their area.

“Parliamentary polls are an election to change the government; It is different from other elections. People are interested in it. Elections will be held on time. No one can stop it. There may be discussion, but it has to be constitutional,” he added.
