No irregularities have been detected yet at the polling stations in the Rajshahi and Sylhet city corporation polls, Election Commissioner Rashida Sultana has said.
She was speaking to reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, around 10:30am on Wednesday.
Voting in Sylhet and Rajshahi city corporation elections started through electronic voting machines (EVMs) at 8am and will continue till 4pm without any break.
She said law enforcement agencies are performing their duties well and there is no report of any irregularities.
The overall voter turnout is also pretty good, she added.
The election commissioner also said there were no problems with EVMs. There was a problem at one place in Rajshahi, but it was fixed.
The chief election commissioner and other commissioners are monitoring the polls through CCTV cameras from Nirbachan Bhaban.
