The Awami League on Friday nominated its chairman candidates for elections to second phase of the Union Parishads in Khulna, Barisal and five districts -- Dhaka, Gazipur, Manikganj, Narayanganj and Kishoreganj.

The nomination was finalized at a meeting of Awami League local government nomination board with Prime Minister and party chief Sheikh Hasina in the chair at her official Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka, said a press release.
