BNP leader Golam Moula Rony has reportedly been attacked along with his wife and supporters during an election campaign rally in Patuakhali on Saturday.
“My wife Kamrunnahar and some supporters were injured today [Saturday] during an attack by Chhatra League activists. My car was also vandalized,” Rony told the Dhaka Tribune over the phone.
“Police refused to take a case regarding this issue, but we will file a case with the court tomorrow,” he added.
Golam Maula Rony is the BNP candidate from Patuakhali 3 constituency in the upcoming 11th general election, slated for December 30.
