Former minister Abdul Latif Siddiqui, an independent candidate from Tangail 4 constituency, does not own an apartment or house.
His nomination papers have already been validated by the Election Commission.
According to the affidavit Latif Siddiqui submitted with his nomination paper, he does not own a house, apartment, shop or commercial building.
He also does not have any earnings from business. However, he earns Tk250,000 from teaching and writing, and an additional Tk14,639 from bank interest annually.
The affidavit also said that he has Tk534,377 in cash in his possession, but his wife and son do not have any money on them.
The amount of money deposited in banks and other financial institutions in his name is Tk925,849.
He also owns a Toyota Jeep worth Tk65 lakh, which he received from the MP quota.
His wife has 20 tola (bhori) of gold jewelry, which she received as gift at their wedding and is valued at Tk10,000 ( value in 1973).
Among home appliances, he possesses a TV and fridge worth Tk75,000.
According to the affidavit, the furniture he owns includes a sofas, two beds, and dressing and dining tables worth Tk50,000.
Latif Siddiqui owns 39 decimal of land valued at Tk32,000 (value in 1990) whereas his wife owns 5.88 acres of land valued at Tk2 crore.
He also owns 1.87 acres of non-arable land worth Tk65 lakh. His wife owns one apartment which is under construction.
On November 12, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda announced a fresh schedule for the parliamentary election.
The commission said the polls will now be held on December 30, instead of December 23 as previously announced.
