Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder has said they want to conduct an election free of controversy.
"In a participatory election, one party’s influence does not work. If the election does not take place in a free and fair manner, then it will be termed a black election. We want to conduct a white election," he told a training session for electoral enquiry committee members, at the commission in Dhaka, on Wednesday.
The Election Commission formed 122 electoral inquiry committees – with two judicial magistrates in each committee – to prevent irregularities during the election period.
As many as 244 judicial magistrates – members of all the electoral enquiry committees –participated in the training.
When is the election?
The 11th general election is scheduled to be held on December 30.
The last date for withdrawing candidacies is set for December 9.
