The candidacy of Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique, Bir Bikram has been rejected.
Tangail Deputy Commissioner and 11th general election Returning Officer Shahidul Islam rejected the veteran politician’s candidacy after his nomination papers were scrutinized around 2pm Sunday. He later confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.

Kader Siddique submitted nomination forms for the Tangail 4 – Kalihati upazila – and Tangail 8 – Basail and Sakhipur upazilas – constituencies.
Previously, in 2017, Kader Siddiqui was disqualified by the High Court, from contesting the by-election for Tangail 4 constituency, on charges of defaulting on loans.
When is the election?
The 11th general election is scheduled to be held on December 30.
The Election Commission is scrutinizing nomination papers on Sunday. The deadline for withdrawing candidacies is set for December 9.
